Sleeves (make two): Ch 27, dc in 3rd ch from hk and in ea ch across (25 dc).
Inc 1 st ea side, every other row (to inc, work 2 dc in 1st st and last st). Continue in this manner for 22 rows. (You'll be increasing by 2 sts, every other row, so the sleeve will get wider as you go.)

Suggestion: you can make one sleeve solid blue and the other red & white - 2 rows of ea color.

Assembly: Sew (whip-stitch) shoulder seams of back and front, right sides tog, leaving center 20 sts open. Open piece up & lay flat, right side up. Mark center st of top of sleeve, place top of sleeve on top of sweater piece, having cuff of sleeve toward neck opening. Matching marked center st of sleeve with shoulder seam, pin in place to prevent slipping (bobby pins work great), sew tog along the whole length of top of sleeve. Rep with other sleeve. Fold sweater right sides tog and sew side and sleeve seams. Turn right side out and crochet a row of sc evenly around neck edge. Embellish with store-bought or hand-made stars and/or buttons.
